Russia Part 1

As we entered Catherine Palace we were asked to wear 'booties' to protect the floors during our visit and stow away any backpacks or large items. Our tour started with us climbing the State Staircase, built in the 1860s, with ornate banisters and surrounded by reclining marble cupids, intricate plasterwork and artwork on all walls and ceilings.
